Please join us for an engaging full-day class with Nina Meierding, international trainer and Professor at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine Univeristy School of Law. All materials, continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
This one day training will focus on specific cultural attributes and and beliefs that may impact your cross-cultural experiences in negotiation, mediation, and everyday life. While each individual has his or her own unique characteristics, there are prototypes (not stereotypes) that are useful to understand. People have different attitudes towards uncertainty, truth, fairness, power and hierarchy, humor, the allocation and use of time, the level of directness or indirectness of communication, conversational patterns, and how they feel they should be treated. We will explore these areas and identify specific skills that can help us communicate more productively and collaboratively.
