All guardians fly on a "first come, first serve" basis. Experienced guardians may be pulled forward to fill certain mission-critical requirements, e.g. Squad Leader.
The requirements to be a guardian are the same as when you last flew. CPR certification is required for those flying to Washington, D.C. Medical information form, Fit to Fly (over age 70) form, and Guardian Roles/Responsibilities will be provided when you are assigned to a flight. you will be asked to sign a "Do Not Sue" form at the first preflight meeting.
Experienced guardians are currently asked to donate $200 toward the cost of the flight; Flightless Honor Flight guardians are asked to donate $50. The amount of donation is reviewed annually by the VHF board and is subject to change. Villages Honor Flight, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity. All donations are tax deductible.
