  • The 2020 "Heritage Latvia" trip is tentatively scheduled for July 7 - 21 or July 8 - 22  (exact dates TBD, depending on group flight availability). The departure airport will be determined by the location of the majority of participants, within reason.

  • ALA Membership

  • In order to participate in the ALA "Heritage Latvia" educational tour, the participant and both parents/guardians must be or become members of the American Latvian Association for the year of 2020 (ALA Board Resolution). If the participant or one or both parents are not already members, membership fees will be included in the trip fees deposit.

    By becoming an ALA member, you will be supporting numerous Latvian cultural and educational programs in the U.S., will receive ALA's monthly e-newsletter about ALA programs and Latvian events in the U.S. (both in Latvian and in English), will receive our printed journal "Latvian Dimensions" and annual report, as well as will be supporting the American Latvian community and gaining a voice in determining its future.

    ALA Membership Levels

    Annual - $30 (per year)

    Lifetime - $300 

    Gold Lifetime - $800

    Amber Lifetime - $2000

    Namejs Lifetime - $5000

  • Trip Fees

  • The $3390 trip fees include the round-trip international flight from a U.S. airport (from a city central to this year's participant group) to Riga, Latvia, ground transportation in Latvia, 3 meals a day, all admission fees and tour guides, and accommodations while on the trip.

    Travel to the U.S. airport that the group is departing from is to be arranged and paid for separately by the parents of each participant.

    Please make arrangements for payment of the $590 deposit by February 15, 2020. 

    The remaining trip fees, $2800, are due two months in advance of the trip. 

    • If paying by check, please make it out to "American Latvian Association" and send to 400 Hurley Ave, Rockville, MD 20850.
    • If paying by credit card, please make a PayPal payment when prompted on this page or contact the ALA office at + 1 301 340 8719.
    • If paying by wire transfer, please contact us at alaprojects@alausa.org for bank account information. 

    Checks are preferred, due to processing fees incurred by ALA with other payment methods.
