  • A TBC student intending to take coursework at another institution and receive academic credit may do so under the following Academic Office conditions:

    • It is the student’s responsibility to comply with admissions standards and application deadlines of the institution for which transient permission is required.
    • The student must make application to the school he or she wishes as to attend as a transient.
    • The student must be enrolled during the semester in which transient permission is approved.
    • It is the students responsibility to pay for transient classes directly to transient institution.
    • The student should not register for transient courses at transient institution until approval from TBC is received.
    • The student is aware that transient approval is only for one term. Subsequent terms require submitting a new transient form for approval.
    • The student must make a grade of “C” or better to insure that the course credit will be accepted by TBC.
    • The student understands that classes requested that will not meet a graduation requirement may not be approved.
    • The student understands that requests for courses being offered at TBC in the semester requested may not be approved.
    • The student understands that it is his/her responsibility to request an official transcript from the transient institution to be sent to TBC at the completion of the course(s).
  • A TBC student intending to take coursework at another institution and receive academic credit may do so under the following Financial Aid Office conditions:

    1. For a student concurrently enrolled at TBC and the transient school in the            same academic period

    • TBC must remain the student’s “home school”
    • The student should not apply for Federal Student Aid through the transient school or include that institution’s school code on the FAFSA
    • The student must provide the TBC Financial Aid Office with proof of enrollment at the transient school
    • The student must provide the TBC Financial Aid Office with proof that all tuition and fees are paid at the transient school
    • Credit hours at the transient school will not be considered for total enrollment in the TBC calculation of Federal Student Aid if the student does not provide the TBC Financial Aid Office with proof of enrollment and proof of tuition and fees paid in full at the transient school

    2. For a student enrolled only at the transient school (not taking classes with            TBC in the approved transient semester)

    • The transient school is the student’s “home school” for the given enrollment period
    • The student should apply for Federal Student Aid through the transient school
  • List all courses you plan to take at the transient institution.

  • Please allow 2 business days for your transient request to be reviewed. All correspondence in regards to this request will be sent to your student email account. If your request is approved you will receive a copy of the approval letter by email.
