    Ken and Cindy Campbell Graduate Student Travel Scholarship
  • Purpose

    The Ken and Cindy Campbell Graduate Student Travel Scholarship was established in 2015 to support graduate students researching water-related issues in the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering (ABE) at the University of Florida/IFAS. Scholarships of up to $1250 will be awarded in support of expenses related to travel for research projects, competitions, and participation in a competitive unpaid internship or workshop.

     

     

    Eligibility

    To be eligible for this award:

    • You must be a UF graduate student in the Agricultural and Biological Engineering Department.
    • Although first priority will be given to Ph.D. students in the general hydrology/water quality area of research, outstanding applications from Master’s students in the same area are also encouraged. 

     

     

    When to Apply

    All application materials are due by March 15th for the academic year.

      

    Scholarship Requirements

    The awardee agrees to:

    • Provide a written report summarizing impact of the funds to the department chair.
    • Create a two-minute video showing the importance of your research and submit it to the ABE competition.
    • Send a thank you note to Ken and Cindy Campbell attaching report and video.

    • Current CV
    • Short essay (no more than two typed pages) that explains how these funds will enable you to achieve the purpose of this scholarship. Explain the relevancy of your suggested use of funds to your academic/career or organization’s goals. The scholarship will be awarded to students who show that they have a solid plan and will genuinely benefit from the travel made possible by the funds.
    • Letter of support from primary advisor or committee chair
