Voluntary Leave Application

Voluntary Leave of Absence is available for provisional members, associate members, and members in full connection who for sufficient reason choose to temporarily take leave from their ministerial appointment. (Paragraph 353). Those with sufficient reason may request in writing a voluntary leave through the Board of Ordained Ministry, with a copy of the request sent to the bishop and their district superintendent. This leave is granted or renewed by vote of the clergy members in full connection at Annual Conference upon recommendation by the Board of Ordained Ministry.The following guidelines are provided to help you in this process.In addition, the Board of Ordained Ministry may request a personal interview.
