MMEO Mission Statement: At Mother’s Morning/Evening Out we provide a safe, clean, caring environment where your children can play and learn in and creative environment. Our program offers love and physical care for children ages two year to ten years old. We have a responsible and caring Staff that engages the children in age-appropriate activities. Art time, playtime, and snack time allow children a variety of learning experiences in a safe and loving environment. MMEO policies are enforced to ensure the health and safety of all the children. MMEO is offered to parents and guardians to have a few hours of freedom for up to three days a week. The MMEO program runs year round from 6:00 pm-9:00 pm year every second Friday evening and 9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. Friday mornings.
Overview: Children are eligible for MMEO from the age of 2 years old-10 years old. Attendance is limited to no more than 8 hours a week per child.
Enrollment: Enrollment in the MMEO program will be on a first come first serve basis. Each session holds a maximum of twenty children. We will maintain one centralized waiting list in case of overfill. To be placed on the waiting list, please call Valerie Kartwe, our Director. Valerie will record your child’s information and the date you called. If you know of anyone interested in MMEO have them contact Valerie and be placed on the list. When a slot becomes available, Valerie will notify the appropriate person that a slot has opened. If you are offered a MMEO slot, it is your choice to take the space or pass. If you pass, you will remain on the list and will retain your seniority.
Tuition: Each parent will make a payment of $25.00 prior to a new session. Tuition is collected at time of registration. All Checks must be made payable to Popadoodle. There is a $25.00 fee for returned checks, after which you will be required to pay in CASH ONLY. There will be no refunds once you reserve your spot.
Daily Supplies and Procedures: Please label all bags, sippy cups, sweaters, jackets, and hats with your child’s name. Send a labeled backpack with your child that contains a change of clothes for children under 5 years old.
Please dress your child in play clothes and shoes and an extra pair of clothes for young children in case of accidents.
Please sign in on the daily roster and provide any telephone numbers we need to contact you in case of illness or emergency.
Please leave a sippy cup, diaper, and wipes in a plastic bag with the child’s name if applicable.
Hang your child’s labeled backpack on the hooks at the entrance.
Snacks are given around 10:00 am and 830 pm. If you child is to have something other than the snack provided, please bring it and notify the caregiver. Please do not bring snacks with peanuts or peanut butter in the ingredients. We prohibit food sharing.
Napping: There are no facilities to provide naps for your child. If your child is still taking a morning nap, please pick him/her up prior to the morning nap. The caregiver will work with you to help the child transition into staying for the entire session.
Potty-Training: We recognize that potty-training is an important part of a toddler’s development and that consistency in the training approach is critical to your child’s success. While potty training is not the responsibility of the caregiver, she is willing to help your child with the process. Please discuss your approach to potty-training with the caregiver prior to sending your child in underwear. If your child is in training pants please bring plenty of extra clothing for accidents. For health reasons it is our policy that no child’s clothes be wet. If dry pants are not available to the caregiver, then diapers will be used. Children are taken to the restroom at scheduled times during the session and when they tell the caregiver.
Illness: Sick children may not under any circumstances attend MMEO. If your child has a runny nose (thick and/or colored discharge) coughing, sneezing or is taking medications, they may not attend. The child may return to MMEO after 24 hours without fever, vomiting, diarrhea or symptoms of illness. If you send a sick child to MMO, you may forfeit your slot. If your child becomes ill while at MMEO, the caregiver will immediately call you to pick up him/her. All childhood immunizations must be up-to-date.
Allergies or Special Diets: Please discuss food allergies, other reactions, and dietary concerns with the Director and Caregivers. Depending on your child’s situation, you may need to provide a special snack or drink for each day your child attends.
Release to non-parent: We will not release your child to anyone but a parent without express written advance notice. Please let the caregiver know your intentions to have a non-parent pick up your child. Please note the person’s name and phone numbers on the sign-in sheets. If someone other than you drops off your child and will be picking them up, please notify the caregiver when the child arrives and make the notations on the sign-in sheets.
Late Pick-up: Late pick-ups will not be tolerated. You must pick up your child promptly by 12:00 Noon. There is a $1/minute late fee penalty payable when you pick up late. Three late pick-ups will result in immediate dismissal from the MMEO program
Emergency Procedures: We understand that emergencies and extenuating circumstances happen from time to time. In the event that you are caught in an UNAVOIDABLE and URGENT situation, please notify Valerie Kartwe at 678-779-7052 as well as your respective Caregiver 678-691-1097. You must provide an acceptable explanation to avoid a warning. Warnings will be issued at the discretion of the Director.
Separation Anxiety and Transition Issues: We recommend the following procedures to help make the parent/child separation a little easier:
1. Sign-in, hang up backpack, put sippy cup in the box, say good-bye and exit promptly.
2. Please bring security objects (i.e. blankets, dolls, toys) as they come in handy during times of need.
3. Say good-bye instead of sneaking out. Your child needs to realize that you will leave and that you will come back. Eventually your child will trust that you will return and it will be easier for the caregiver to comfort your child.
4. Upon leaving, please move quickly to an area away from the child’s site (windows and doorways of the MMEO house) when talking to other parents. Children are easily upset when they can see their parents but cannot be with them.
5. Remember that this is your time to yourself and your child’s time to play. Please help us follow these guidelines so there will be less tears and more fun for everyone.
