WHO IS THE PROGRAM FOR?
The hardship program is intended to help those who need to file their tax return to complete a FASFA for college, and for those that need to reinstate an IRS installment plan before levies are issued.
WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS?
To qualify applicants must be temporarily unemployed (for a period of 1-6 months), recently laid off (1-6 months), under employed, physically disabled, or age 65 and older.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?
Anyone that fits the qualifications of need and circumstance can request an invitation to apply. Howard Tax Prep reserves the right to make the final decision on when the program will be offered, to whom it will be offered, and to what documentation will be accepted as verification of hardship.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON'T PAY MY INSTALLMENTS?
A late fee of $35 will be charged for payments received 10 days after the installment payment due date. Payments that are 30 days late will be REPORTED TO THE 3 MAJOR CREDIT BUREAUS: TRANSUNION, EQUIFAX, & EXPERIAN. Again, please note: LATE PAYMENTS WILL BE ADDED TO YOUR CREDIT REPORT!
CAN I USE COUPONS/DISCOUNTS?
No coupons, discounts, or special offers can be applied to this program.
WHAT ARE THE TERMS?
There are no application fees, on compounding interest, and no pre-payment penalties. Down payments range from $50-$100, with installment payments interest capped at 15%.
