The Junior Entrepreneurs programs will run from 2:45 to 4:45 and 4:45 to 5:30 every school day, with pick-up at the school, and serve students in Kindergarten to fourth grade.
Junior Entrepreneurs will practice creative problem-solving, a necessary skill for all entrepreneurs, with scavenger hunts, mysteries and crafty puzzles and problems. Projects and games have an emphasis on using logic as your super power.
This year, we will continue to grow micro greens to donate and upcycle craft materials to add to our donated craft kits. Beginning this year, with a grant from the Rhode Island Foundation, we will be starting a textile upcycling project to create shop cloths for painters and mechanics out of unwearable textiles, like shirts and sheets.
As always, our cookies and baked goods are staple projects with Junior Entrepreneurs involved at every stage. We donate the cookies to seniors and shelters and sell cookies in order to buy ingredients to keep the cookie churn going!
And of course, we will be making messy fun whenever possible. A full description of the Junior Entrepreneurship curriculum can be found on our website at www.liveandlearnri.com.
There are two Junior Entrepreneurship programs each school day and your child can register for both or just one. The first program, Junior Entrepreneurs, is our larger program with as many as 20-25 students and focuses on group projects from 2:45 to 4:45. Our second program, Entrepreneurship Endeavors, is a smaller group with more one-on-one attention from 4:45 to 5:30.
Fresh Air Is Healthy Air! Our space has HEPA filters in every room and we keep the windows cracked (even in winter!) and use fans to cycle fresh air through the building.
