    Beginning 9/1/16, the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Conference Participation Support Program (CPSP) will operate on a non-competitive basis. Contingent upon the availability of funding, an annual allocation will be available to faculty in accordance with the guidelines and criteria noted below.
  • PROGRAM RULES

    •  The program will operate on an annual period of 9/1-8/31. • To be eligible, travel must begin between 9/1 and 8/31 of the current annual period. • Only one conference will be funded for an applicant during each annual period of 9/1-8/31. •  This is a reimbursement-based program, travel advances will not be available. •  Unused travel funds will not carry over into the next annual period. •  Funds may only be used for travel expenses related to attendance at a regional, national or international  conference where the applicant is an active participant (e.g., presenter, session organizer, committee chair, etc.) •  Full-time faculty (tenure track or tenured) are eligible for the program. •  All State, University at Albany (UA), CAS, and home department travel processes, procedures, rules, and regulations must be followed. •  Incomplete or late applications will NOT be funded. • Faculty on leave (other than sabbatical) are not eligible.
  • FUNDING LEVELS

    Funding is allocated as follows: Assistant Professor: $850, Associate Professor: $600
  • PROCEDURE

    At least 30 days prior to the start of travel, the applicant must submit the following via the online form: -  Completed CAS Conference Participation Support  Program Request form, signed by the applicant’s department chair -  Copy of the conference program/ announcement that includes conference dates and location -  Copy of documentation of the applicant’s level of participation in the conference •  The CAS Dean’s Office will review the applicant’s request and email  a copy of the approved/denied Request to the applicant. •  If the request has been approved by the CAS Dean’s Office, the applicant should arrange for and complete his/her travel in accordance with all applicable State, UA, CAS, and home department travel processes, procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Upon completion of travel:

    Expenses that were charged to a UA Travel Card •  The applicant should reconcile his/her UA Travel Card as required by State, UA, CAS, and home department processes, procedures, rules, and regulations. • The applicant should work with the departmental Administrative Manager or Secretary to arrange expenditure transfers to the CAS Dean's Office CPSP account.  Expenses that were not charged to a UA Travel Card •  Not more than 30 days after the completion of travel or by September 30th, whichever comes first, the applicant should submit the following to the CAS Dean’s Office in AS-217: -  Completed and signed travel voucher, including all supporting documentation that is required by State, UA, CAS, and home department travel processes, procedures, rules, and regulations

    • Use this form to request use of your current year allocation from the CAS CPSP. • Funds may only be used to attend a regional, national or international conference where the applicant is an active participant (e.g., presenter, session organizer, committee chair, etc.). • Travel must begin between 9/1 and 8/31 of the current annual period; only one conference per period will be funded. • This form must be submitted to the CAS Dean’s Office at least 30 days prior to the beginning date of travel. • Follow all required State, University at Albany, CAS, and departmental travel processes, procedures, rules, and regulations.
