    All UW Recreation employees (student and temporary) are required to complete the certifications/trainings within this form.
  • Directions and Helpful Tips

    1. Trainings marked with an * are not required of all employees. If you are unsure, please ask your manager which trainings you are required to complete.

    2. Complete the training that corresponds with where you are within your employment with UW Recreation. 

    3.  Be sure to save any proof of completion as Managers are not notified and uploading proof of certification is required. 

     4. The time allotted for each training is indicated in the title. This is the number you should enter on your timesheet. For additional time, please submit a request to your Manager.

      Husky Prevention & Response is a foundational, required online prevention and response course about sex- and gender-based violence and harassment. Please allow 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete this training (complete once upon hire).

    • UW Active Shooter Preparedness Training (10 min)

      All UW Recreation employees are required to review UWPDs Active Threat/Shooter Guide webpage which includes an active threat video from NYU. Please allow at least 10 minutes for reading the page and watching the video (complete annually). Once completed, please respond to the prompt below.

    • Fire Extinguisher Training (30 minutes)

For those employees that do not hold a current certification, reach out to your manager directly to schedule the certification class through UW Recreation (this is a pre-requisite of employment for some positions, so UW Recreation covers the cost of the certification but does not cover compensation to complete the class).     UWild paddle sport instructors are required to complete the WA Paddle Sport Safety Course. Please allow at least 45 minutes for the training. There is a study guide and a final exam. Throughout the study guide there will be quiz questions. You must answer the quiz questions correctly before proceeding to the next section of the study guide. At the end of the study guide you will reach a section titled "Final Exam". You do have the option to skip the study guide and attempt the final exam, you must score 80% or higher to pass the exam.
