  • BIR Incident Report

Safety is our foremost concern at BIR. In the unfortunate event of an incident involving damage to equipment or injury or trauma to staff, rowers, volunteers or bystanders, this report should be completed within 8 hours of the event (or immediately upon learning of the incident).
  • WHO SHOULD SUBMIT AN INCIDENT REPORT?

Initial incident reporting is the responsibility of:

    • Launch Driver or Coach: for incidents involving use of boats

    • Coach: for incidents on land during practice or involving rowers at any time during regattas.

    • Parent Leadership Team: For incidents involving regatta volunteers, bystanders or damage to regatta kitchen equipment.

    • Witness or involved party: In the event that none of the above options are appropriate.

NOTE: Ideally, the report is filled out by someone with firsthand knowlege of the incident. Follow-up actions will be taken by the Director of Rowing, Safety Committee and Board of Directors as needed.
