INK X Halloween Artist Battle 2018: Call to Artists!

Intro:

Thank you for participating in our annual INK X Halloween Artist Battle! We invite you to submit your best Halloween themed designs for a chance to win some really amazing prizes. This year, every accepted submission will be made available for order with artists receiving commission on all sales! We welcome you and are excited to have you as a part of this fun event! This battle is for Professional Tattoo Artists only. Please read the rules and stipulations and fill out the form below to begin.

The Battle

InkAddict has partnered with Eternal Ink, Workhorse Irons, Redemption Aftercare, Tattooing Events (Hampton Roads, Savannah, Virginia Beach Tattoo Conventions), Electrum Supply, and Quick Caps to bring you our 3rd INK X Halloween Artist Battle.

This competition asks experienced Tattoo artists to submit their best Halloween/ Horror themed Tee-Shirt designs. After deliberation from our sponsors, the top 13 submissions will be chosen. These 13 finalist’s will then be voted on by fans through Instagram and Facebook. The top 3 designs with the most likes will be selected for a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place grand prize.

The best part: All approved artist’s submissions to this battle will be available for print and order through our INK Limited Collection on InkAddict.com, for the duration of the battle. A commission of each sale goes to the artist.

Eligibility

This opportunity is open to all professional tattoo artists over 18 years of age.

Timeline:

Oct 03, 2018: Call to Artists Opens

Oct 22, 2018: Submission Deadline for Contest (12am EST)

Oct 23, 2018: Sponsors choose 13 finalists

Oct 24, 2018: Open IG and FB Voting on finalists

Oct 30, 2018: Voting Ends (12am EST)

Oct 31, 2018: Winner Announced, End of Limited Edition Sales.

Rules:

1. Artist must be a professional tattooist to be eligible for submission.
2. Designs that are not deemed Halloween/ Horror themed will not be considered.
3. Designs that do not adhere to required art specifications will not be considered.
4. Limit of 2 design submissions per artist.
5. Any artwork deemed non original or plagiarized will not be considered or disqualified.
6. Sharing of designs during voting period is encouraged, though any paid promotion/advertising of designs will be subject to possible disqualification.

Selection Criteria

The 13 Finalists designs will be selected and judged by our sponsors based on the following criteria:

1. Quality of concept, theme and approach
2. Design and technical ability in craftsmanship
3. Adherence to the submission guidelines and requirements
4. Overall awesomeness of shirt design

Artists Submissions Available for Purchase

Separate from the contest, artists designs will be available for order on a limited edition T-Shirt during the duration of the battle. If an artist does not make the contest submission date, he/she can still sell their design up until Oct 31st when the contest ends.

Artists Commission

Artists will make $8.00 per shirt that is sold with commission payments from sales distributed through November.

The Material

All designs will be printed via full color Direct to Garment printing on the front of a black or gray tee shirt.

Please feel free to add your signature tastefully into your artwork.

Web Upload to Purchase Availability Schedule

Artwork that is uploaded before 5 pm (EST) during business hours will be uploaded on the site within two business days of receival.

Art Specifications:

Original and Digital Art

• Original art can be of any medium (i.e. pencil/charcoal drawing, painting, digital art, vector illustration, etc.)
• If Photographing artwork for submission: Photograph of artwork must be straight shot with no shadows on a pure white background only. Photographs should be minimum 10MP quality and submitted as Jpegs or PDF. Shadowed, blurry, or warped photographs of designs will not be considered.
• There are no limitations to your art. Design may be full color or black and white. If using color, ensure solid saturation.
• Design must be free floating on white background.
• Design must be scanned and submitted as PNG, JPEG or PDF format, 300-600 DPI, Full Color.

*The final output will look extremely close to the high quality art you upload with the exception of varying ink color.

Sizing:

Final Art size will be of or within 13" x 15". We have attached a template for download to this form to help you size your drawing or files. We recommend you design in mind of what will look best on a Black or Gray T-Shirt.

File Specifications:

1. Artwork must be uploaded as one of the following high-resolution file types: .png, .jpeg, .pdf, .eps, or .tiff (Pixelated or blurry submissions will not be considered)
2. File types cannot exceed 120MB
3. (For Digital Designers) Layered PSD and AI files may be submitted
4. Title all art submissions Title.lastname.firstname.pdf or jpeg
