  • 2022 USTA Alabama Growth & Innovation Grant

    Guidelines and Application

    Applicants

The applicant will determine the amount of the grant request and funds are limited with this grant.  Eligible applicants include tennis providers, CTA members, USTA partners as well as USTA committees and staff.

    Program/Ideas

Programs must be focused on growing tennis in Alabama.  Ideally, program or ideas will be new and not an add-on to an existing program.  However, if the idea is a significant enhancement to an existing program, it will be considered.  Applicants must be able to describe the direct pipeline from the proposed program or idea to increasing numbers of unique tennis players in Alabama.

    Deadline, Notification of Award

All grant applicants will be notified and funding provided on or before May 1, 2022.  Application deadline is April 15, 2022.

    Accountability

All grants recipients must be accountable for the proper use of these funds.  All applications must include goals, and the goals must be measurable, either through growth in USTA membership and/or participation numbers.  Accountability forms will be provided and due December 1, 2022.

    Specific Guidelines:

Grants will be made payable to any provider that aligns with USTA Alabama vision, values and teaching methods.
Grants may be made for adults or kid’s programs, but programs/ideas must incorporate a pathway for new players into tennis.
Programs must be designed to continue for at least one year after funding ends.
A budget for the coming year must be attached.  Budgets should include revenues from all sources, including participant fees, as well as expenditures, including salaries, prizes, and other amenities.  In-kind contributions should also be included.

Applications must be received no later than 5 PM, Wednesday April 15, 2022.
