    NH Ball Bearings - Peterborough NH - NHBB Quality Assurance is seeking Interns to complete manufacturing quality projects. Projects include developing methods for tracking Machine and/or Process Capability studies as directed by our Quality Assurance Team and of Measurement Systems Analyses for selected gauges throughout the shop. There will be opportunities to learn the ins and outs of Quality Assurance, work on developing a database for deviation requests and find methods to improve quality levels in many areas. Interns would have the opportunity to determine the best methods of tracking and storing data and to create a standard work document (manual) describing the methods used to perform the studies and track the results.

    AeroDynamics - Seabrook NH - Possibilities include work in the Quality assurance department. Some projects could include inspection of finished parts for the aerospace and defense industry. The internship may also include updating work instructions and quality procedures.

    Howard Precision - Gilford, NH - Howard Precision is welcoming individuals for internships who have a professional attitude, solid organizational skills, and mechanical abilities to develop on the job experience in a safe and positive work environment. We expect our interns to be able to work and learn in all areas of our company, from the input of orders and raw material, through the production process, and onto final inspection and shipping the finished parts to the customer.

MilliporeSigma - Jaffrey, NH - MilliporeSigma’s Bioprocess manufacturing facility located in Jaffrey NH is seeking Automation and Robotics Technician Interns whose primary responsibility will be to support Automation, Robotics, and Employee Health and Safety projects. As an intern, the successful candidates will spend a significant amount of time working directly in the manufacturing environment.

    Mentis Sciences, Inc. - Manchester, NH - Mentis Sciences is interested in hosting community college interns this year at their Manchester, NH location.  Interns will be exposed to five areas of Mentis: Engineering Design and Analysis (Modeling, Drawings, CAD, CAM, Simulation); Materials Testing (Electrical, Mechanical); Composite Manufacturing (Lay -up and Curing Procedures, Inspection Procedures); Machine Tool Technology (G-Code Programming, CNC Setup and Operation, Welding); and Facility Management (Preventive Maintenance Procedures, Safety, Weekly Checks).

    Opportunity Descriptions

     

    FULL! Advanced Manufacturing - Interns will contribute to an automation line with robots and Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machining centers.  The research could include programming, wireless communications, Industrial Internet of Things, and mathematics and statistics. Interns will be completing a project that incorporates their interests and background around advanced manufacturing.

    FULL! Metal Forming – Interns will characterize deformation of metals over various length scales and using different forming mechanisms. For example, during electromagnetic forming, a magnetic field as opposed to hard tooling is used to deform metals. The entire process is completed in less than 100 μs with workpiece velocities of >300 m/s. Interns will be completing a project that incorporates their interests and background around metal forming.
