• Why Hawaii?

Hawaii is a destination like no other. It is a well-known destination for it's welcoming climate, the 'aloha-spirited' people, world renowned beaches, unique culture, and spectacular nature. Last year, nearly 10 million people visited Hawaii Islands. While it may seem far and perhaps pricey, Hawaii is a center of the East and the West, easily accessible from the United States, Canada, and Japan. The average people spent ~$300 per day for accommodation alone. Visiting paradise comes with a high cost, yet the number of tourism is increasing each year. Most people book their Hawaii trips 5-6 months in advance. Secret? You know when you see people who just returned from the islands.  "Ahhh...it was soooo good. I did not want to come back."

    True Aloha Meaning

You may know "Aloha," the greeting word used often on the island. "Aloha" is also used as a farewell, and also sending love, and breath of life force, consciousness of God. When you receive Aloha and give it back to others, you live in the aloha way, following a sacred law of one. The islands open you heart so you can see your true form, a goddess and god self. When you walk the land and beach with barefoot, you receive the energy of these islands ~ directly to your heart. You feel deep connection to the earth, the ocean, and the all sentient beings live upon.

Hawaii is a home of hula dance and spiritual beauty. You can easily go into a trance with dance and ukulele. Every turn you make you see the emerald ocean popping up. The active oceans welcome the surfer enthusiasts from all countries. Hawaii is also known as the island of the most active volcanoes, Pele is the goddess of volcanoes. You will feel her powerful presence throughout the islands of Hawaii. You may be mesmerized by the beauty of this islands as well as shocked to see its diversity. You find snow on the top of Haleakala, desert like landscape in the northern shore, and thick jungles in a center of the island. You travel a highway for 2 hrs, you will see several ecosystems as if you are going through a series of portals. On the full 9-Day Retreat we will visit two of the most stunningly beautiful islands, Maui and Kauai.

    You will have unforgettable experience

Kauai the Garden Island - It is the oldest one of all islands and is also got nickname of "grandma". The island has a very special energy with spectacular valleys, northernmost island in the Hawaiian chain is draped in emerald valleys, rugged mountain, sharp peaks and canyons. Some parts of Kauai are only accessible by sea or air, experiencing the 3D national geographic.

Maui, “The Valley Isle,” is the second most visited island. It is known as "the playground of the wealthy". The island is treasured by many celebrity for its world-famous beaches, its diverse nature, nurturing ground for humpback whales, and the magnificent sunrise and sunset on Haleakala. Meet Your Host

Aloha! So look forward to sharing ALOHA moments with you!
      • Aloha: Makiko is a teacher and a healer who love to share her love with others. She is a spiritual healer and a teacher at RAYKI school where she shares her knowledge and healing services. She left a corporate life when she went through a massive awakening process in 2014. Her love to the Universe is a major driving force of her teaching. "Love is a backdrop of our Universe. We came out of love, and will return to love.", she says. She is also a cancer survivor, mom of two, and a pround owner of Akita (Japanese dog). She will teach you how to live life fully.

Her bio: Makiko received PhD degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Fliss’s extensive background in Western Medicine (Johns Hopkins & Mount Sinai School of Medicine), combined with knowledge of the energy system, uniquely positions her as an expert in traditional and nontraditional disciplines. She worked in the biotech, pharmaceutical industry and academia and therefore knows the pros and cons of western medicine.

She also has an innate ability to perceive energy from chakras and tune into the innate rhythmic vibrations of life. With this accumulated knowledge, she continues to explore how the human body and mind are interconnected, and how to maintain perfect harmony to stay young and healthy. Her focus is to spread her knowledge and share how every person can utilize this innate tool to reduce stress and ignite their power within.

        Yay! We Are All Set!

Here are some tips and advices....
      • You Did It! Now we are fully booked to go Hawaii. Our hearts are already there aren't they?

Just a couple of things I would like to have/know from you. :)

        1. Our tribe roster - I need to stay in touch with you while traveling together. Likely you will need this one also. Please fill out the info by clicking the link HERE.
        2. Are you paid up for the trip rooms and a transportation? Please follow the paypal link above or Check payable to Makiko Fliss $1500 for 1 island, $3000 for two. Thank you!
        3. Let's plan our excursions - if you prefere a solo, that's cool too. Be sure to get your own rental car, so you get to optimize your free time.
      • Here are some Maui money saving tips - many ways to save $$ and enjoy like a kind and a queen on the island

         Be Fear-less 'n Eat-well

Let's simplify our lives. My ideal plan is to bring a backpack and one carry-on luggage. So plan well and worry less - recall the last time you traveled ~ what did you bring too much of? And what make you happy while being away from home? I do recommend your sending a package or two over there (see #3).

You may want to pack a good pair of hiking shoes (already break-in), snorkeling-friendly outfit, a portable drinkware, reef-friendly sunscreen, perhaps a rain jacket (remember, Hawaii is more 'wet' than East Coast). This time, we are NOT camping (thanks to Heaven!), so no need to pack a sleeping bag.

Bring cash $   (most street vendors take cash ONLY). I was so hungry after a long hike. I finish all my breakfast and snacks way before noon. I passed many yummy looking food stands but I had three quarters only. There are many talented artisits who sell their creations on street - you might be inspired to purchase a locally crafted music instrument. "Cash is king".

Send it forward - send your comfort food/snack or gears in advance. Large Box = $19.95 (3-5 days to Hawaii and a post office will hold it for 30 days). It worked very well. I heard that you can have Amazon deliver to here also (do research on this one).

Please FOLLOW this format and do not write the actual address of the post office. Example of a properly-formatted General Delivery address looks like this. Pretty cool, yes? I do not have direct experience with Kauai one, but Maui one worked very well last time.
