    • Account Selection

    • A Regular Share account (savings) is required for membership at Illinois State Credit Union. This share account has a required minimum balance of $25 and earns 0.20% interest.

    • In addition to our checking account, we have a new product called an Easy Saver Account. This is an additional share that would be linked to your debit card. When you make debit card purchases at a store, the transaction would round up the nearest dollar and transfer the change to the Easy Saver Account.

For example, if you spend $2.50 at a store, you will see the transaction post to your checking account for this amount, and then an additional transfer made for $0.50 to the Easy Saver Account.

This share will earn 10% interest on the balance up to $1,000. In order to transfer out of this account, you will need to contact a Member Service Representative.

    • Overdraft Protection

    • Overdraft protection is an automated service that will transfer money from your savings to your checking if there is not enough money in the checking account to cover the transaction.

There is a $3 fee each time this service is used.

    • Overdraft Courtesy Pay

    • This is an additional service that can be added to your account. Overdraft Courtesy Pay (OCP) would allow you to overdraft your Share Draft account up to $500 and pay items by bringing the account negative. Each transaction that brings the account negative will include a $25 fee.

*After a 30 day negative account status, Illinois State CU is authorized to remove this service. In order to have this reinstated, you will need to contact the credit union to re-apply.

    • Opt In/Out

    • This service is specific to debit card transactions. If you wish to OPT IN, your debit card purchases will bring your account negative with the standard $25 fee per transaction. In order to choose this option, you must be approved for Overdraft Courtesy Pay and have an available limit to overdraw your account. If you have chosen to set up overdraft protection, those transfers will take affect before bringing the account negative.

To avoid going negative with your debit card transactions, you can choose to OPT OUT which will deny your debit card purchases if there is not enough money in your checking account to cover the charge.
