  • For full consideration please submit

    • At lease 2 distinct images for each work, of one to three available works.
    • An updated resume (no more than 3 pages)
    • Image list with title, scale, media, date of work and price/value
    • A brief artist statement about each available work.
    • Complete all required fields and successfully submit this form.

    ACREofART Gallery Opening and Exhibition

    Artist's are encouraged to bring with them at time of installation, any preliminary sketches, prints, maquettes or similar support materials to put on display at the opening reception and dedication event. Works will be exhibited for a period of two weeks following the opening. Works will be returned to artists, at Sculpture Valley's expense, upon close of gallery exhibition. Support works may be offered for public sale or marked Not For Sale.

    Honorarium

    Sculpture Valley will offer selected artists a $3,000 honorarium to cover artist expenses to include 24-month lease of the artwork, transportation to and from the installation site, food and lodging and artist fees for on-site availability during installation and de-installation. If multiple pieces are selected from one artist an honorarium will be awarded for each piece.

    • Sculpture Valley will provide logistical and staff support, site design parameters, and incur the costs associated with site preparation, the physical installation, and promotional events and materials.
    • Artworks may (or may not) be for sale. Sculpture Valley will help facilitate sales when possible and will seek a 10% commission fee.
    • Sculpture Valley has established a purchase fund and reserves first right of refusal on purchase while work is on display.

    Artist Eligibility

    This opportunity is open to all professional visual artists, aged 18 and older.

    Scale and Materials

    There is no required size, however, the sculpture should be capable of serving as a visual focal point and be freestanding once securely mounted on provided concrete display pad or anchored to the earth, depending on installation site.

    • Sculpture must be constructed for outdoor display and withstand weather extremes.
    • Works must be safe for exhibition in the public realm.
    • Artist shall describe mounting methodology and materials used.
    • There are no minimum or maximum size or weight requirements.

    Lease Agreement

    A signed two (2) year lease agreement will be required after the selection process, before the honorarium is disbursed. Honorarium is disbursed as follows. $500 upon selection buy the Jury as a chosen work. $2000 upon successful installation of artwork. $500 upon return and deinstallation of work in 2020, unless purchased prior to end of exhibition or lease extended. If purchsed, remaining honorarium will be factored into negotiated price. Artists may request an extension of lease agreement by 12 months resulting in an additonal payment of $800, if mutually agreed upon and approved by Sculptrue Valley up to one month prior to new season.

    Insurance

    Insurance covering the artworks selected for the 2018 ACREofART Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition is as follows:

    • Sculpture Valley carries a full liability policy for all works in the exhibition.
    • Additionally, General Liability is carried by the City for any works in public domain.
    • No insurance is provided by Sculpture Valley or the City for the value of the artwork, however artists may provide their own policies if desired.

    Notification

    Selected artists will be notified of their selection by e-mail.

  • Criteria for Submissions: 

    • All creative works must be submitted and received by Midnight Friday, May 24, 2019.

    • Submissions must be the entrants’ original work. 

    • Must not contain material which is (or promotes activities which are) sexually explicit, obscene, pornographic, offensive, threatening, profane, harassing, or discriminatory (based on race, sex, religion, natural origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender, or age), and must not promote illegal activities.

    • Must not include contain or perform any non-authorized copyrighted media production including but not limited to music, films, books, television programming, etc., or identifying descriptions of any media property.

    • Must not contain material that violates or infringes another's rights; including but not limited to material that violates privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights, or that constitutes copyright infringement. Without limiting the foregoing, submissions must not include third party trademarks, logos, insignia, location signage, photographs, artwork, music, or sculptures without permission.

    • Sculpture Valley reserves the right to use and reproduce images of accepted artwork in ACREofART marketing materials and on other sposoring ogainization media outlets.

    • Sculpture Valley is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen artwork. Sculpture Valley will not indemnify or insure artwork for damages to the work itself or for any loss that may result from the displaying of the artwork.

  • Statement of Originality

    I hereby declare that this submission is my own original work and to the best of my knowledge it contains no materials previously published or written by another artists, person, published source or reference not attributable to the artist. 

    I hereby attest to my submission as in compliance with the submission criteria stated above.

    I hereby give Sculpture Valley - ACREofART permission and the right to reproduce and use my artwork in future ACREofART promotional material.
