What to bring: For daytime sessions, youth will need to wear closed-toe shoes and bring a water bottle and a lunch. For the overnight session, youth will need to bring a sleeping bag/pillow and a change of clothes for the “Shelter the Homeless” overnight activity on Thursday evening. Camp will resume Friday morning. There are no showers at St. Francis, but everyone is encouraged to brush their teeth and freshen up.
Arrival/Departure: To be a team leader you must commit to attend the ENTIRE program and requisite planning meetings on the scheduled dates. Team leaders are not permitted to leave early or miss days of camp.
Team leaders must arrive each morning by 8:00am and picked up at approximately 3:30pm in the afternoon. Thursday night is an overnight activity; team leaders will return to TFS at 5:00pm (we will provide dinner) and stay until approximately 1:00pm on Friday. On Friday, team leader parents are invited to arrive at 12:00pm for a slide show and take their youth home at approximately 1:00pm.
Parent Volunteers: Due to the logistics of this camp, every participating family must volunteer at least one day (driving AND adult presence in the afternoon) per youth registered at any time during camp week. If a parent or guardian is not available to volunteer at any time during the week, youth cannot be registered. There are absolutely no exceptions.
Apply Between January 27-February 17, 2020: Meeting the deadline will not necessarily guarantee placement, as this is an application process and space is limited. Since a sufficient planning period is crucial to ensure the success of this program, we will not accept any Team Leader applications after the February 17, 2020 deadline.
The number of team leader slots is limited and must be gender balanced. Meeting the deadline does not guarantee placement.
