  • We're glad you're considering applying to be a San Francisco Lean Leader!

Lean Leaders is a multi-day Lean Process Improvement training that raises up change agents in City departments through hands-on observation, making rapid innovations, and coaching staff through change.

Application Deadline for the next cohort: Friday, February 21, 2020

Before you begin, please read the Lean Leaders Training Guide below:

  • Before continuing to the application, you MUST have completed the following:

  • Your Information

Please fill out your information below
  • Supervisor Information

Your supervisor and process owner will receive a copy of your application and must approve before you will be accepted to the cohort.
  • Process Owner Information

It's time to identify your Process Owner! The Process Owner is the person responsible for overseeing process you want to improve. It is possible that your Supervisor is also the Process Owner, though this is not always the case. This person will be responsible for meeting with you at least twice to hear the results of your work during and after the training period. We also expect that the Process Owner will need to allow for incidental time in their calendar to give feedback on improvements and assist with process analysis or changes.
  • Applying as a Team?

To derive more value from this training, we encourage you to apply with a partner from your department who also works on the process you selected. While partnering up is encouraged, we will accept solo applicants as well!
  • If you're applying as a team, please list your team members' first and last names below. Provide as many names as you have in your group. Please limit your team members to a maximum of four team members total.

  • Process Problem

This is the part of the application where you get to spell out the problem you want to solve. Provide us with as much information as you can in the questions below.
  • If you are applying as a team, your responses to questions 1-4 should match your teammates' responses.
