  • PROGRAM OVERVIEW

    The Affiliate Artist program is for those artists looking for space to share in an arts facility and within an artist community. Affiliates enjoy 24* hour access to our communal spaces to make art when they are not in use by the Arts Warehouse. Since the spaces are shared, storage of art work, supplies etc. is strickly prohibited. Affiliates must take their items with them when they leave. 

    *Some dates and times to access the studio will be blocked off due to AW programming and other uses of the shared studio. Affiliate Artists will have access to a shared calendar to view the blocked dates.

    STUDIO OPPORTUNITY DETAILS

    APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
    (Application must include ALL items)

    Applications are accepted on a year-round basis and will be reviewed by the Arts Warehouse staff within two weeks of receiving completed application. Artists will be notified if a slot is open, or when a slot is available. Arts Warehouse will have 25 accepted Affiliate Artists maximum at any time. To apply, artists must submit an online application, digital images, and $25 application fee. Should you be accepted, the Artist will be required to complete a Background Check form which Arts Warehouse will provide to you. 

    Upon acceptance, Affiliate Artists will pay $40 per/month, 6 months at a time. In addition to the $240 for 6 months they are required to pay the following:

    • A refundable $100.00 security deposit; refundable at the end of the agreement pending inspection/review.
    • A non-refundable $50 key, IT and maintenance fee per year in the program.

    Requirements for application are as follows:

    1. A Letter of Interest outlining specific interests in working at the Arts Warehouse, and how participation will affect the artist’s practice
    2. Curriculum Vitae that provides an overview of experience and other qualifications 
    3. Two Letters of Recommendation, personal and/or professional, that include names, mailing addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses
    4. Documentation of recent work as described below
  • PROGRAM GOALS

    1. Support/investment in individuals whose work will impact the larger cultural landscape.
    2. Integration into a dynamic community of local, national, international artists and a network of creative professionals.
    3. Opportunities for engagement/cross‐cultural exchange with local artists and audiences.

    ELIGIBILITY

    1. Artists must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents over 18 years of age.
    2. Artists with a deep commitment to their practice and to advancing the mission of Arts Warehouse.
    3. Artists working in non-hazardous mediums. Artists working with toxic materials, hazardous machinery, etc. may not be considered due to limitations within the building.

    SELECTION CRITERIA

    1. Artistic merit of past and current work.
    2. Readiness to engage with and benefit from the Arts Warehouse Affiliate Artist Program.
    3. Potential to further develop an innovative creative practice and impact the community.
    4. Completed application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
    5. Review of the completed application may require follow up interview questions with the applicant.

  • IMAGE PORTFOLIO

    Enter Title, Medium, Size, Year in each line for each piece submitted. There's one text line and one image upload link per piece. Artists must submit 8-10 images of work created in the last two years. All images must be high res and a clear representation of the work. Film submissions are required to submit a still of the video in the image portfolio, and a link to the video in following section.
