  • HALT-Are You Hungry, Angry, Lonely or Tired?

"Fortunately, hunger, anger, loneliness, and tiredness are easy to address and serve as a warning system before things reach a breaking point." Unknown
  • In recovery, HALT is a wonderful acronym to always keep in mind. When we are not feeling right throughout the day, HALT can be used as a quick assessment to figure out what may be going on within us. HALT stands for HUNGRY, ANGRY, LONELY, TIRED. If you're struggling, you may be hungry, angry, lonely or tired. These are major areas that can mess with our moods, motivation, energy levels, and overall feelings of well-being. I know for me this almost always applies when I feel like crap. Fix the area that's faulty and you will feel much better. Seems quite simple but it works very well. I've come to realize that a lot of recovery is applying very simple techniques and keeping things as simple as possible.

  • Today and everyday forward I will remember to HALT in order to quickly resolve any challenging moments on my journey.
