• 2020 Nomination Application

  • The Ruth Holmberg Arts Leadership Award recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to the arts in Chattanooga and who is actively engaged in the cultural life of our community. This annual award honors an individual who, through his or her exemplary efforts, has significantly contributed to building a stronger community through the arts.

    The inaugural Arts Leadership Award ceremony and reception took place on March 11, 2014. The first award recognized Ruth Holmberg for her extraordinary support of the arts and cultural community in Chattanooga over her lifetime. In subsequent years, ArtsBuild continues to honor Mrs. Holmberg by naming the annual award the Ruth Holmberg Arts Leadership Award.

    Guidelines for the 2020 Ruth Holmberg Arts Leadership Award nominations:

    Nominators

    • Nominators must currently live or work in the greater Chattanooga area.
    • Self-nominations are accepted.
    • Nominations will be accepted through October 18 and November 22, 2019.
    • Nominations will not be accepted after November 22, 2019.
    • Nominators must use the official Ruth Holmberg Arts Leadership Award nomination form, which may be found online at www.artsbuild.com .
    • Nominations may be submitted online using this form, by emailing artsbuild@artsbuild.com or mailing a completed form to 301 E. 11th Street, Suite 300 Chattanooga, TN 37403. Faxed nominations will not be accepted.

    • Nominees must be individuals currently living or working in the greater Chattanooga area.

    Selection Criteria

    • Significant contribution to the arts as an artist, arts philanthropist and/or volunteer.
    • Substantial leadership in the greater Chattanooga arts community.
    • Nominees must be individuals currently living or working in the greater Chattanooga area.

      Consideration will be given to reflect the breadth and diversity of the community's demographics, contribution types and mix of individuals.

    To complete the nomination, please submit a brief (1,500 word maximum) description of the nominee. Describe how your nominee qualifies for the award based on the criteria below.

    • Substantial leadership in the greater Chattanooga arts community.
    • Nominees must be individuals currently living or working in the greater Chattanooga area.
