IF REQUESTING TO TAKE A LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY EXAM:
Please submit this request within the first two weeks of the fall or spring semester in which you wish to take an Elliott School coordinated language proficiency exam.
All students must take the online language diagnostic exam and include a screenshot of the diagnostic exam results in their request to take an Elliott School coordinated language exam.
Your request will be reviewed by the language coordinator and they will email you with a decision within 5-7 business days.
If your request is approved, you will receive emails regarding steps you must take to sign-up for both the speaking and reading portions of the exam. It is important you read all of these emails and register and sign-up for your exams within all of the stated deadlines, otherwise you will not be able to sit for the exams for that semester.

IF YOU ARE AN F1 STUDENT REQUESTING TO HAVE YOUR LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT SATISFIED WITHOUT A DIAGNOSTIC OR PROFICIENCY EXAM:
Please submit this request, and DO NOT take the diagnostic exam. In your explanation, list the language other than English that you already know, and which country you are from where English is not predominantly spoken; additional documentation might be requested to document your proficiency.
