  • Application Form - Community Tennis Volunteer of the Year

    The USTA Southwest Section honors one person each year for outstanding work and dedication to community tennis
  • PURPOSE:  This award is given to recognize recent significant contributions made by a person volunteering to promote adult or junior recreational or competitive tennis programs through community tennis associations and throughout the Section.   

     

    CRITERIA:  Among the criteria to be considered when nominating::

    1. A person who by character, good will, or spirit of cooperation contributes to the growth of the game through volunteerism.
    2. Current USTA Member in good standing.
    3. Age 19 or older.
    4. Depth of involvement in community or local area
    5. Impact on community’s overall tennis programming
    6. Scope of programs/new and innovative features
    7. Inspirational or motivational work with adult or junior tennis
    8. Involvement with other organizations
    9. Previous nominees may be resubmitted, but new, deserving nominees are encouraged.

    Note:  It is not anticipated that this award would necessarily be given annually, but saved for issuance in only very special occasions; thus, areas need only submit nominations when they have identified a truly astonishing candidate.
