Mission Statement
Independent Dance Company is fully devoted to providing the youth in our community with a pace that will not only help them reach their full potential in dance, but also build their self-esteem and teach them leadership skills and the importance of teamwork.
Owner/Instructor
Joey Hahn has over 15 years of experience in hip-hop dance, most of it gained while living in LA. It was his LA experience that made him aware of the huge variance in the level of hip hop classes offered in Odessa compared to classes offered in L.A. He immediately saw a need for a more challenging level of dance than what was being offered. Through coaching at local cheer and dance gyms, he discovered that there is a strong desire within the hip-hop population to take their dance skill to the next level.
Joey has extensive training in Breaking, Locking, Popping, all-Around Stuntman, and Xtreme Martial Arts. Joey’s dance skill has earned two World Hip Hop Championships and several NDA National titles and awards. He has served as a back-up dancer for several tours, including SXSW and Intra Island Music Tour Hawaii with Minor Global Records. Joey Hahn has taught his choreography for several dance teams in West Texas over the last seven years. Many of his teams have won national and world titles, which established Joey’s reputation as professional choreographer.
Program Information
Class instruction is offered to all genders, ages 4 and up. Members will participate in individual dance classes that offer hip hop, tumbling and tricking. IDC stands above the rest because it offers a variety of instruction on techniques that you cannot currently find in West Texas.
IDC’s image is built on professionalism, integrity, and commitment to its members and their futures. Joey is devoted to building a place where students can express themselves without restrictions or judgments. The studio provides a family-like environment with classmates that build each other up instead of tearing each other down. Parents can be confident that their child will be treated fairly and respectfully when attending classes at IDC.
