The cost of a tour is $3.00 for each student; the teacher and up to 6 chaperones/classroom are free for groups of 15+ students. Additional chaperones (more than 6 for each classroom or for groups less than 15 students) will be each charged $3. This includes admission, a docent-led tour of the current exhibitions, and a student art activity based on one of the exhibitions. Tours vary in length depending on the ages of the students. For Grades K-3, each exhibition takes about 25 minutes. For Grades 4-8, each exhibition takes about 30 minutes. For Grades 9-12, each exhibition can take about 35-40 minutes. Student art activities are tailored to the age and to the exhibitions, and usually take about 30 minutes. For large groups or multiple classrooms, we usually split them into 2-3 groups and rotate them through the exhibitions and student art activity. We usually show 2-3 exhibitions concurrently. The Sculpture Garden is available for picnics and breaks. If you have a specific curriculum that you want to follow and we have enough advance notice, we can customize the tours and activities to complement your curriculum.
